WABEC Projects

We link Waynesboro businesses, schools and the community to improve education for all students.  The WABEC Foundation has a long history of funding innovative programming for students in the Waynesboro Area School District to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.

Children’s Village Fire and Safety Program

This field trip for all 2nd grade students in the Waynesboro Area School District provides our students valuable instruction and lessons on personal and fire safety,

7th grade Adventures in Learning College Visitation

Our students visit a local college to explore post-secondary education.

8th grade Adventures in Learning

In collaboration with high school chapter of FBLA, (Future Business Leaders of America) and our local business community, our students are challenged to prepare resumes for a series of mock interviews. In addition, they receive soft skill training essential for success in the business world.

WABEC Mini Grants

We award $5,000 annually to WASD teachers for innovative educational student programs that include: student achievement, assistance to “at-risk” students, use of technology for instruction, student self-esteem and community partnerships.

Peaceful School Bus

This whole-school program is designed to decrease inappropriate behavior on school buses while creating a climate of respect and cooperation among students and bus drivers.
